Underfloor Heating
Under Floor Heating Installation

Underfloor Heating
Heat Pumps are much more efficient when supplying low temperature systems such as Underfloor Heating or Skirting Heating rather that radiator based systems. Heat Pumps will work with radiators but sizing and efficiency of the radiators is critical. The higher temperatures needed mean less heat pump efficiency.
Standard Underfloor Heating works by laying continuous pipe on top of insulation, which is covered with screed and then the floor finish is refitted. The heating pipe is connected to a manifold with then is turn is connected to the heat pump pipework. Underfloor Heating gives the building an even temperature, and the screed act as a storage heater. Therefore run flow temperatures can run as low as 35ÂșC, which maximises heat pump efficiency.
GEC-CO are able to design, supply and install Underfloor Heating Systems. Systems can also be purchased as supply only. This type of heating is best installed on new builds however retrofit buildings, can be under-floored, depending on floor type and room heights.
GEC-CO Underfloor Heating loops are installed as one continuous loop, which means there are no underfloor joins. Each section is individually controllable.

Skirting Heating
Thermaskirt heating replaces the skirting board with an elegant alloy polymer extruded skirting board in a range of colours and profiles.
Thermaskirt uses no wall space and distributes heat evenly all around the room at low level just like underfloor heating.
Skirting heating works well with heat pumps, and at lower flow temperatures, efficiencies are increased. Skirting Heating is more responsive than underfloor, it also offers all the advantages of underfloor or radiators without the disadvantages of either.
